Getting Started Best to avoid all mobs. Daytime is mostly safe, nighttime is very unsafe. PvP is enabled all the time outside of spawn. Be weary of who you trust. There no chunk claiming or chunk protection. Shields block 11% of damage just being in your offhand, alternatively adding another weapon in your offhand gives you an attack speed boost.
